PhD projects

Matt Bridge is interested in the translation of theoretical and laboratory knowledge into practical real-world outcomes. Central to his research is the use of sports science in the dynamic world of sports coaching. Matt has a particular interest in research into skill acquisition and refinement in sports performance. A second area of interest is individuals’ developmental experiences within sport and how these relate to both elite performance and lifelong participation in physical activity.

Dr Bridge welcomes applications in his areas of interest including those from coaches and applied sport scientists who wish to examine their practice through a research lens.
