Abstract
The solubility of carvacrol and limonene were measured in the presence of water-saturated CO2 between pressures of 80-300 bar and temperatures of 40degreesC and 50degreesC. A decrease in the solubilities of both components was noted in comparison to tests with dry CO2. This behavior was attributed to the low ability of carvacrol and the inability of limonene to form hydrogen bonds and the lack of dipole interactions.
