Abstract
This article reviews the recent exhibition 'Fifty Works by Fifty British Women Artists 1900-1950' which appeared at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Gallery, University of Leeds, 9 April – 27 July 2019. Drawing on my research into women muralists, I reflect on the career opportunities available for female artists in the first half of the twentieth century.
