Patient safety and the law: a thematic review and assessment of future options

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

Patient safety and the law continues to straddle uncomfortable terrain between different interests, priorities, and incentives. This chapter brings together the various contributions captured in this book. Though a critical analysis of the implications raised, it presents a new perspective that is rooted in wider conceptions of justice and trust building relationships. The chapter raises implications regarding the role and limits of the law through a reflective analysis on the areas addressed by the book contributors.
