Abstract

This paper presents a high-gain millimeter-wave filtering lens antenna, which consists of a filtering feed tapered slot antenna (TSA) and a dielectric spherical lens. A coupled-cavity structure in a double-layer substrate-integrated-waveguide (SIW) is used to realize a 2nd-order bandpass characteristic for the feed TSA to improve the frequency selectivity. Simulated results show that the proposed filtering lens antenna can provide both good filtering performance with a bandwidth of 2.2% and high gain of 21 dBi.
