N2 - Metadata-intensive applications pose strong requirements for metadata management infrastructures, which need to deal with a large amount of distributed and dynamic metadata. Among the most relevant requirements we can cite those related to access control and authorisation, lifecycle management and notification, and distribution transparency. This paper discusses such requirements and proposes a systematic approach to deal with them in the context of S-OGSA.
