Abstract
Any exploration of the term ‘inclusive leadership’ requires careful reflection of both the concepts of leadership and inclusivity, as a well as the connections and contradictions of the two terms. This chapter sets out to explore both in more detail but also to look at the context within which our concern for inclusive leadership has arisen, how it tends to be framed within the wider leadership and equality literature and the challenge which is inherent – but often missed – at the core of inclusive leadership practice.
