Examining the Micro-Level Socio-Temporal Rhythms of Anti-consumption

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

This research examines the temporalities of practices involving anti-consumption. We use facet methodology including fourteen qualitative interviews, visual data, and reflexivity diaries. Findings illuminate how instantiations of anti-consumption destabilize practices’ socio-temporal rhythms. We contribute the concepts of dissonant intervals and synoptic socio-temporal rhythm to literature on anti-consumption and temporality.
