Abstract

This paper concerns a 2D leaky-wave resonant cavity antenna, formed from a partially reflecting surface (PRS) positioned half-a-wavelength above a metallic ground plane. The PRS, for this antenna, may consist of an array of metal dipoles or apertures, cut into the metalisation of a single sided dielectric substrate. This paper details an efficient procedure for Leaky-Wave Antenna (LWA) design, together with a series of equations for analysing the antenna's performance. The final section of the paper presents a novel design for a double layer, dual-band LWA.
