Abstract
An algorithm using wavelets is used to detect
heartbeat rate from a phase modulated Doppler radar signal. It
is shown that the heartbeat rate can be detected up to 1.5m from
the radar in a noisy environment without the need of filtering.
Also the property of wavelet transform to preserve both time and
frequency information is utilized to analyze the phase modulated
Doppler radar signal giving information about changes in heart
beat over very small intervals of time.
