Personal profile

Biography

Yousif Al-Sagheer is a research fellow in the school of Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham. His main research interest is the integration and control of fuel cell systems. He received his PhD on balancing renewable energy fluctuation using hydrogen fuel cell and water electrolyser. He studied hardware induced events in such systems to improve the balance reliability under prediction uncertainty of power generation and demand models, and to provide recommendations for operational and design requirements. He has experience on developing model predictive controllers based on the feedback theory.

Currently, he is managing fuel cells systems research group at Birmingham Centre for Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Research, where he is co-supervising Master and PhD students. Also, he is part of ATETA project to provide consultancy for SMEs in Great Birmingham and Solihull area in the UK.

Yousif received his MSc and BSc in nuclear energy engineering at the University of Baghdad. He worked on lecturing undergraduate modules of heat transfer, advanced mathematics, and measurements & instrumentations.
