Biography

Valentina is a PhD candidate at the University of Birmingham, with a research project focused on beliefs, conceptions and practices related to the Afterlife in New Kingdom Egypt from the standpoint of modern Psychology and Anthropology. After obtaining her BA and MA degree, respectively, in Florence and Pisa (Italy), she was employed at the Museo Egizio in Turin (Italy), and now she is currently working at CAMNES, a center for archaeological studies based in Florence. 

Research interests

Valentina's main research interests focus on the Amarna Period, private funerary beliefs and practices as well as body gestures related to bereavement scenes in New Kingdom Egypt, and the reception of ancient Egypt in contemporary societies.
