Biography

Theo received his BA and MA, both from the University of Birmingham, with dissertation focuses on Iron Age oppida (supervised by Dr D. Maschek) and marsh-forts (supervised by Prof. H. Chapman), respectively. Following a break from academic study, working as a field archaeologist in the commercial sector, he is now undertaking a PhD, expanding upon his previous research on Iron Age marsh-forts (supervised by Professor H. Chapman and Dr David Smith; funded by Midlands4Cities - AHRC). Through both his academic and professional career, he has taken part in several significant projects including the Stonehenge Landscape Project and the archaeological works for HS2. He has also been involved with Time Team.

Research interests

Theo's research interests focus on relationships between archaeological sites and landscapes in the British Iron Age, and prehistory more broadly. His current PhD research is aimed at reclassifying Iron Age marsh-forts, currently a sub-type of hillforts, to establish a more informative framework that better reflects the nuance of the sites and their landscape architecture.
