Biography

Jason is an Associate Professor and RAEng/Leverhulme Trust Research Fellow at the School of Engineering. He has published 40 articles in scientific journals and is co-inventor on 18 patents. His research fields span thermofluids, multiphase flows and the processing of two-dimensional nanomaterials. His work has been applied to areas including microelectronics cooling for telecommunications and aerospace, environmental particle fouling and clean air, clean water, and sustainable production and processing of layered materials (e.g. graphene, TMDs). He has received grants from Horizon 2020, including a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship, RAEng/Leverhulme Trust, EPSRC, the Rosetrees Trust Innovation Award, and The Royal Society.

He received the Eurotherm Young Scientist Award for his work in thermal sciences, and recognitions from Bell Labs, Alcatel-Lucent and Nokia for transferring fundamental research into products. He was listed in the Top 3 Marie Curie fellows for "Innovation and Entrepreneurship" by the European Commission (2019), selected to be part of the "Emerging Stars" special issue by IChemE Chemical Engineering Research & Design (2021), and listed in the ACS Class of Influential Researchers for Engineering Chemistry (2022).

Jason was a member of the EPSRC Early Career Forum in Engineering from 2019-2022, using this platform to highlight the challenges early career researchers face, and contributing to the discussions and ideas on how to improve support for ECRs and their career development.
