Biography
Fuad holds a Master's degree in Hydrology and Water Resources from IHE Delft Institute for Water Education in the Netherlands. In his master’s thesis, he delved into the world of colloidal particles in groundwater aquifers, utilizing Silica encapsulated, superparamagnetic DNA particles (SiDNAmag) together with conservative tracers in a 3-D sand tank experiment.
In November 2023, Fuad joined the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences as an Early Stage Researcher to undertake his PhD focusing on the fate and transport of micro- and nanoplastics in groundwater. This is part of the PlasticUnderground project, where his research will center around modeling the movement of these particles using sand column experiments and numerical modeling techniques.
