Who Ever Heard of an Irish Jew?

Research output: Contribution to specialist publicationArticle

Abstract

This article - published by the major Jewish newspaper and journal Forward - explores the history of Jews in Ireland, and questions why theirs is a story which has remained largely untold. To this end, the article also unpacks my own decision to fictionalise this community - especially when I am not a member of it myself. This in turn raises questions of cultural appropriation, and the ideological/political role of contemporary fiction.
