Abstract
Understanding the diffraction undergone by radio waves propagating around 3-dimensional obstacles is essential in modeling the mobile radio channel in built-up areas. Recently, the trend has been to move away from statistical and empirical model to channels models because the prediction accuracy of the former two models is limited as the parameters used are not well-defined for propagation environments. In this paper, a three-dimensional model is adopted in an attempt to produce a more realistic prediction in the practical scenario. The mathematical model used is based on the asymptotic path integral technique.
