Abstract

A systematic analysis within a combined experimental and computational approach is used to understand the propagation, radiation leakage and dispersion of THz pulses travelling along a tapered parallel plate waveguide. We demonstrate that one should consider transverse electric TEmn modes to understand the unexpected dispersion of the output TEM-field-distribution- like pulse.
