Abstract

Acoustic correlation logs are devices used for measuring the velocity of ocean-going vessels for navigation purposes. The application of a high-speed digital signal processor to extract the maximum amount of data from a sonar system is described. A 'rule based', adaptive control system is used to maintain the optimum system parameters under widely varying operating conditions.
