Abstract

This paper is concerned with the temperature dependence of cross-linked residue formation during the thermal degradation of nylon 6,6. The relationship between non-volatile residue formation and initial hydrogen bonding in nylon 6 and nylon 6,6 was established using thermogravimetry and hotstage-Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy.
