Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The article analyses the abolition of the UK's Administrative Justice and Tribunals Council as part of the Coalition government's reform of 'quangos' - public bodies operating at arm's length to ministers. The analysis reveals a weakening of independent oversight of the relationship between the state and individual citizens, and increased fragmentation of such oversight within the UK's devolved system of governance.
