Abstract

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a synovial joint disorder characterised by pain, stiffness, and restricted function. People with OA can also experience depression, anxiety, fatigue, and sleep disturbance.
This article discusses the impact of pain on people with OA, and the social and psychological consequences of the condition.
