Abstract
The goals of this chapter are to 1) introduce genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics technologies; 2) describe the advantages and challenges associated with these approaches compared to traditional methodologies, particularly from the perspective of cross-species extrapolation within human and environmental toxicology; and 3) identify solutions that will facilitate the incorporation of these technologies into environmental toxicology.
