Abstract
Novel metamaterials operating at millimeter and terahertz wavelengths fabricated by stacked subwavelength hole arrays are presented. New extraordinary transmission effects are experimentally shown. Moreover, by using a staircase approximation of the ideal parabola profile done by removing step by step one lattice in each dimension of the transversal section new lenses have been fabricated with potential applications in antennas and imaging. Simulation and measurement results exhibit an excellent agreement.
