Abstract
Assesses the works of this fifteenth-century author (all recently edited by me) from the new perspective of their attempts to educate their readership - in most cases fellow prelates and/or parish priests, though, in the case of one major and one relatively minor work, probably also laity. Putsch emerges as an enthusiastic and committed teacher and trainer, able to adapt various literary methods to his didactic ends, but also one whose efforts are likely to have been frustrated to some degree by a failure to make his works sufficiently user-friendly.
