    Abstract

Understanding the value of engineering and high-value engineering in international network operations as well as the influencing factors are critical for the effective management of engineering operations in complex international business networks, which would create higher value for direct and indirect beneficiaries of an engineering organization. After making clear of the concept of value and high-value engineering in international network operations, the primary value creation mechanisms are analyzed in this paper. The influencing factors are also discussed from the aspects of value creating stages (including idea generation and selection, design and development, production and delivery, service and support, and recycling and disposal) and international network operations.
