Abstract

This paper outlines the design of a low-cost, temporal correlation log for two-axes velocity measurement. Digital signal processors are used to evaluate the cross-correlation times and to provide pulse-to-pulse integration. Another high-speed processor is used to implement an adaptive TVG law algorithm and also to control the system parameters to allow the correlators to extract the maximum level of information for any operating depth. Results of field trials are presented.
