Abstract

Does psychological stress send us to an early grave? Although research shows links between stressful events and illness, there is conflicting evidence regarding the relationship between stress and mortality. Stress can be measured in different ways, and this has an important impact on the links between stress, health and death. In addition, it appears that stress is not always bad for our health. This has implication's for the theoretical models and scientific methods we use in studying stress and its consequences.
