Abstract

This handbook presents diverse applied issues and different areas of applied research in sport and exercise psychology. The chapters in this handbook represent science-related practice perspectives from different continents and cultures. The 26 chapters are presented in 7 parts under the following headings: psychological training; psychological skill training; techniques to improve psychological functioning and foster motivation; stress management techniques; social/educational strategies; special topics; and educational programmes and ethical issues in applied sport and exercise psychology. The book has a subject index.
