Abstract

Atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) was used for the synthesis of well-defined diblock copolymers. The study was performed for the development of new colloidal carriers. The diblock copolymers were obtained by the polymerization of ionizable and hydrophobic monomers using monofunctionalized poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) macroinitiator. It was observed that the interchain association of PEG-based polymethacrylic acid derivatives was pH-dependent and occured at low pH.
