Abstract

In this summary, a Ka-band Bull's Eye antenna is proposed, which consists of 6 corrugated concentric rings and radiates via a waveguide aperture. A metal 3-D printing technology is used for the first time for this type of corrugated antenna. The antenna is simulated for various cases of surface roughness. The structure has been simulated with CST Microwave Studio, and simulated results demonstrate a maximum realized gain of 17.1 dBi at 27 GHz and a 3-dB bandwidth of 11%, for the ideal case of surface roughness. A prototype has been fabricated with this very promising 3-D printing technology.
