Abstract

A search has been made for the He-6+He-6 and alpha + He-8 decay of the molecular rotational band in Be-12 using the Be-10(C-14,Be-12(*))C-12 reaction at 88.5 MeV. Although the alpha + He-6 decay of Be-10 was observed in the data set there is no evidence for the breakup of Be-12. The cross-section upper limits for the Be-10(C-14,He-6 He-6)C-12 and Be-10(C-14,alpha He-8)C-12 reactions are 50 and 300 nb respectively.
