Abstract

This study explores how Dante Gabriel Rossetti interpreted the myth of Dante in his own biography, in particular regards to the role of love and friendship. The essay shows how the Dantean concept of friendship lies at the heart of the creation of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.
