Condition monitoring of hydraulic power units in industrial wind turbines

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

In this paper, the condition monitoring technique applied for the evaluation of the status of two hydraulic power units installed in industrial wind turbines is described. The data presented herewith were collected from in-service Vestas V47 and ACCIONA AW1500 wind turbines installed in Greece and Spain respectively. This paper explains the use of motor current signal analysis (MCSA) and historical process data approaches in order to monitor the actual condition of the hydraulic power units under consideration.
