Abstract

Recently our team have developed a high strength HA cement formulation that could be hand moulded with a wet compressive strength of 90MPa. The effects of loading mode, high strength cement formulation, ageing regime and screw length were evaluated and bovine cortical bone and unmodified CPC was used as a control. The highest pullout force was obtained in precompacted cements (135 MPa). A linear relationship was found between density and pullout force.
