Abstract

In this contribution we introduce theoretical analysis on the Brillouin precursor formation arising out of a signal propagated through a planar metallic medium for the frequency of 0.1THz. Results have been compared for two different propagated pulses, rectangular and Gaussian. This approach is used to obtain the peak amplitude decay for any kind of transmitted signal travelling through a dispersive medium. In this paper, we consider a metallic layer, with variable thickness, characterized by the two critical points model for relative dielectric permittivity r(), assumed for three different metals: gold, silver and aluminum.
