Wendy Scase is investigating the foundations of English as a means of written communication and the contributions of medieval scribes to this story. Her research is supported by a Leverhulme Trust Major Research Fellowship.

Wendy Scase supervises across the literature and textual cultures of medieval England c.1100-1550. She is interested in supervising projects on texts and textualities in relation to their material, cultural and historical contexts; radical, satirical and polemical writings; medieval cultural history and manuscript studies; and religion, writing and politics. She is very enthusiastic about co-supervising medieval projects across disciplines and institutions.
