Personal profile

Research interests

My current research examines the roles, relations, and resources of health-sector voluntary organisations and their connections with the NHS. This is part of a collaborative research project - 'Border Crossings' - which explores the historical role of fundraising and third sector organisations in the health sector since 1948.

My wider research interests relate to the role of philanthropy and charity in contemporary society, particularly of high-net-worth philanthropy and its influence on public policymaking.

My PhD research examined philanthrocapitalism - the application of business- and market-based actors, methods and motives to philanthropy.
