Stefan Bouzarovski is a world-leading expert in energy and urban policy. He is the author of the critically acclaimed research monograph Energy Poverty in Eastern Europe (Ashgate, 2007) and has advised a range of European governments, as well as the European Commission, on these matters. Professor Bouzarovski's current research projects include:

‘Thermocron iButtons: building a thermal imaging lab’
‘Building/household events and energy vulnerability: a European perspective’

He is currently supervising 11 doctoral researchers on a variety of topics, including: Urban energy consumption and social justice; theorising urban public space; changes and spatial structure of quality of life in urban areas; and energy poverty in South-eastern Europe.
