Before joining the English Language department at the University of Birmingham, I wrote my doctoral thesis on multimodal metaphor and metonymy at the University of La Rioja (Spain) from 2011 to 2015. My research work greatly benefited from several research stays at the University of Toulouse II-Le Mirail (2012), University of Amsterdam (2013), University of Birmingham (2014), and the Free University of Amsterdam (2014-2015). I will be based at the University of Birmingham from October 2015 to October 2017 thanks to a Marie Curie fellowship awarded by the European Commission to carry out the project “Exploring Multimodal Metaphor in Advertising (EMMA)”.
