Freshwater ecology: environmental stressors (organic pollution, effluents and emerging contaminants), environmental change (climate change, glacier retreat, land use and drought), biomonitoring, alpine river systems, functional traits.

Biogeochemistry; dissolved organic matter dynamics, nutrient dynamics in modified systems (urban/agricultural), environmental sensing, optical sensors, environmental chemistry, river temperature, statistical analysis, environmental monitoring.
