PhD projects

Joe Hriljac’s research interests include synthesis and diffraction studies of zeolites, zeotypes, layered phosphates and transition metal oxides, especially ion-exchange materials and ceramics with applications for environmental remediation of legacy nuclear wastes. The diffraction studies focus strongly on structure-property relationships and analysis using crystallographic techniques, especially X-ray (conventional and synchrotron) and neutron powder diffraction or total scattering studies using pair distribution function analysis at ambient or non-ambient temperatures or pressure.
