Research interests
Interests across the field of foreign language learning and teaching, including content-based language learning, pedagogical grammar, language teacher development, and quantitative and qualitative research into the development of foreign language proficiency, particularly the role of residence abroad. Further interests in the field of twentieth-century German literature, especially the work of oppositional writers and the literary Inner Emigration in Nazi Germany (Andres, Wiechert, Bergengruen, Reck-Malleczewen, Juenger, le Fort, Schneider, Mitterer).
