Research interests

I am currently converting my doctoral thesis, ‘Monsters in Ancient Greek Cosmogony, Ethnography and Biology’, into a monograph.

I am also developing a project on conceptions of time in ancient Greek cosmogony and looking at correspondences between ancient Greek and Indian creation narratives. I held a conference, Time and Chronology in Creation Narratives, in June 2018.

I took my BA in Classical Studies and MA in Classics and Ancient History at the University of Manchester between 2006 and 2010. I then moved to the University of Bristol for my PhD, entitled 'Monsters in Ancient Greek Cosmogony, Ethnography and Biology'.

In 2015 I joined the University of Wales Trinity St David as a Lecturer in Classics.

I came to Birmingham in 2018 as a Teaching Fellow, focusing on teaching ancient languages and literature modules.
