Christopher Rose

I did my first degree in English Language and Literature at the University of Birmingham, after which I returned to Manchester to live in a semi-squat and write an M.Phil on James Joyce and W.B. Yeats, after which I went to live in the South of Italy for a long time, where I worked as a teacher, translator and events organiser.  After that, I returned to the UK to study creative writing, and (with brief stints in Lebanon, Russia and China) I have lived here ever since, dedicated to the strange pursuit of literature.

Research interests

My research interests include parafiction, the uses of time and memory in short fiction, representations of voice in writing, the history of early photography and sound recording, and creative writing pedagogy.
