Chris Oliver's research interests include behaviour disorder in children and adults with autism spectrum disorder and severe intellectual disability. He looks at applied behaviour analysis, self-injurious and repetitive behaviours, risk markers for the development of behaviour disorder, early and responsive intervention, functional analysis, and the association between behaviour disorder and pain and discomfort. He is also involved in the development of neuropsychological and behavioural assessment methods for people who cannot self-report. Professor Oliver's research interests further include:
