About us

CRRE is an internationally recognized research centre dedicated to the exploration of racism and race inequality in education. The centre pursues original research; has partnership agreements with several cognate centres, pressure groups and think tanks; and hosts the world’s leading journal in the field, Race Ethnicity & Education.

 

CRRE’s mission is to pursue race equality and social justice by working to close gaps in educational achievement and improve the educational experiences and career outcomes of Black and minority ethnic people. In particular, CRRE:

 

  • undertakes rigorous critical research of the highest empirical and ethical standards;
  • encourages collaborations between researchers, policy-makers, activists, and the wider community;
  • initiates and contributes to informed debate about race inequalities in policy and practice internationally.
