About us

The School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences provides a dynamic environment to advance transformative and interdisciplinary research and teaching excellence in the sciences and humanities. We have a shared interest in the processes affecting our planet and its people, their origin and their future trajectory, natural and anthropogenic, and at scales from the nano to the global.  We combine international excellence and critical mass in areas of strength with the breadth, diversity and agility to grapple with societal grand challenges, and engage with the local and global communities they affect. Collectively, we seek to address the key sustainability challenges of the twenty-first century, working collaboratively with colleagues across the College of Life and Environmental Sciences and the wider university. Our research spans four major themes;  Environmental Health Sciences; Earth Sciences; Physical Geography and Human Geography.
