Activity: Engagement and Public eventsEngagement event

Description

Pint of Science - PoS is a globally coordinated event which involves providing academic talks to members of the general public in bars and pubs across the globe. I was involved in the organisation of a Birmingham event at the 1000 trades in the Jewellery Quarter, with Prof. Martin Freer (of the University of Birmingham) and Dr Graeme Hayes (of Aston University) offering two different talks on Climate Change related subjects. The organisation involved booking and making arrangements with a local bar, providing a quiz for the guests and hosting the evening itself. This night was then followed by two further nights, organised by a colleague with my attendance as a volunteer.
