BEAST invites you to three days of music, conversation and ideas with guests from the UK, Germany, and Canada. Composer Manuella Blackburn will present recent pieces from her striking and individual body of work. David Prior, one half of sound/art/architecture duo Liminal, will create a new version of his installation work Of This Parish, using recordings of the University’s beloved clock tower, Old Joe. Julian Rohrhuber collaborates with BEER to create Word Music, which makes use of his new Steno live programming language to ‘think aloud, in words that mean programs and letters that shift meanings.’ Percussionist Daniel Tones presents works by Javier Alvarez and Christos Hatzis.
